Just. Show. Up.

Updated: Aug 9, 2019

We are always working on our personal "stuff" and healing even though it doesn't seem so on the surface. And it doesn't matter how long you've been doing the work. "Time in" doesn't give you the spiritual by-pass key to NOT having to learn, grow and heal. It's a process of self-discovery.

This has been the more prominent theme in the past year for me. As I continue to step out of my comfort zone and overcome the fear of public speaking, being more in the public eye and accepting opportunities that come my way that I'm not quite ready for.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The one thing this field of work has taught me is to have faith and just do it because you are more ready than you realize. Otherwise, if you don't, we become paralyzed by overthinking and the preparation cycle. It's a rinse and repeat cycle. You then essentially become that hamster spinning in a wheel because you can't or won't make that jump.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

This is a perpetual self-sabotaging mechanism that we sometimes aren't aware of...heck, I can say most of us most of the time. It's a form of resistance. A resistance to change. Keeping you safe and sound. The change and growth you want to happen won't happen if you don't take risks.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

How can you avoid and change the perpetual procrastination pattern of never stepping outside of your comfort zone? Say YES to it and just SHOW UP. This action alone will shift that energy. Sometimes (maybe all of the time) we have to be brave and just SHOW UP. You might fumble, you might stutter, it may not be your best performance. But guess what? You've done it! You stepped outside of your box. Where the magic happens. Hell if it means I can make this happen by literally rolling (or crawling) outside my comfort zone, I'm doing it. I've been saying yes to things that I don't feel quite prepared to do but yet I have prepared for. Things that you can't really be prepared for unless you do them. It's scary but it's worth it. And you'll look back and think to yourself "Why the hell was that a big deal?"

Remember Spirit will meet you when you decide to step up to meet Spirit in whatever form or format that is for you.
